2010

Sunday June 20th: 10:00-5:00pm Inner images & model painting (full-day)
Sunday August 29th: 10:00-5:00pm Inner images & model painting
(full-day)

read description below:.

Inner images
Discover inner images through a playful usage of clay, charcoal and paint. After an exercise with clay, you will continue to draw and paint with both you left and right hand (on large format paper). Through  drawing and painting you are free in the buildup and emergence of your unique images. Further artistic expression exists out of painting a background and then transforming the painting in ever changing layers in your painting. You are individually led through this process. Here you can concentrate on a figurative and/or abstract painting. This saturday orientation workshop is a great opportunity as an introduction for one or more of the five courses offered at Atelier Wekplaats Molenpad in Amsterdam.

Model Painting
Sketching and drawing the model in slow-motion and after static poses painting with free choice of figuration or abstraction. Left and right handed drawing along with body movement will be combined. This workshop is meant to serve as an integration of expression through our inner images with the observation of external stimuli from nature, by drawing and painting the model.Through this viewpoint to model drawing and painting, replication type of drawing is avoided. Through painting the human figure you develop the feeling and insight into color, light and dark, form, volume, movements, rhythem and composition. You continually have the choice to paint the whole figure or just the torso, large bust or small bust (includes head).

Grounding workshop (This workshop has already been completed)
This Sunday painting workshop theme is Grounding, as an essential element to experiencing peace through our base chakra. Through fun, creative exploration, we can continually discover our own unique nature through art. We will start with a series of grounding charcoal exercises on paper. Here we will draw with both hands, stimulating especially the right side of our brain. After, we will have a guided exercise for drawing and painting with the medium clay (what better way to ground than by using earth). We will complete the workshop with a painting exercise on paper. All exercises are led and great for beginner and experienced artists. The focus of these exercises is on creative fun in this non performance environment
.

Personal Development Workshops
These workshops cater to personnel development in businesses (such as teambuilding) and personal development programs within MBA and other Master programs. These workshops, done with a max of 16 participants offer non-verbal artistic group exercises, with applied theory for participants.

The artistic exercises allow the participants to effectively make contact with their subconscious way of being. Furthermore, the non-verbal parts of the exercises take the barrier of language out of the equation, which is perfect for international teams. It also allows for non-confrontational ways to monitor the roles that individuals take on.

Through applied theory relating to management, leadership and psychology, these workshops allow employees and students to individually reflect upon themselves.

Diagnosis Workshops
Specifically geared to the personal development program (PDP) within the MBA curriculum, we have developed a diagnosis workshop. This diagnosis is done through a specific exercise using watercolors or pastels. When the artwork is completed, it is briefly diagnosed on the spot, with a more extensive summary written and sent out to the participants after. Tendencies, balances and unbalances are pointed out. This information is then used to create a coaching plan for the students in the upcoming year.

These workshops are done preferably with a max of 5 participants per group. This is where the saying, "one picture can paint a thousand words" becomes real.
