DAniella’s Studio will be open as part of the initiate of Open Ateliers Jordaan.

It will take place during the long weekend of May 18, 19 and 20, 2024.

Artists from the Jordaan open their doors for everyone between 12:00h-18:00h! Be inspired by ateliers with diverse exhibitions of new talents as well as established names. During the Open Ateliers virtually all art techniques are represented: from paintings of portraits to design and interactive installations.

During the Open Ateliers Jordaan the artists open their studios and they and the visitors open themselves up to new encounters, ideas and experiences. In this way, this event contributes to the development of artists, of art viewers and of the Jordaan.

Tijdens het Pinksterweekend, 18, 19 en 20 Mei 2024, openen kunstenaars uit de Jordaan tussen 12:00u-18:00u hun deuren voor iedereen! Laat je verrassen door ateliers met uiteenlopende exposities van nieuwe talenten én van gevestigde namen. Tijdens de Open Ateliers zijn vrijwel alle kunsttechnieken vertegenwoordigd: van schilderijen van portretten tot design en interactieve installaties.

Tijdens de Open Ateliers Jordaan stellen de kunstenaars hun ateliers open en stellen zij en de bezoekers zich open voor nieuwe ontmoetingen, ideeën en ervaringen. Zo draagt dit event bij aan de ontwikkeling van kunstenaars, van kunstkijkers en van de Jordaan.

Puzzle at Fresh Air Sculpture, UK

PUZZLE is a concept of four freestanding metal puzzle-like pieces. This installation serves as an absurd meeting of static puzzle pieces. Trying to fit in, connect, and reflect on each other. These pieces express a desire to connect with their own uniqueness, inner nature. Perhaps from another glance, they represent parts of our life that are needing acceptance in order to be fulfilled. In both cases, this gorgeous nature setting is influencing them and allowing them to transform. They loosen up and connect to themselves, to each other, to nature. As we continue to glance, what first appears as a tight, reflective surfaces, now reveal a relaxed, crumpled up as they transform into their uniqueness. They take on a chrysalis cocoon texture, depicting this transformation. In viewing this installation, the story continues to unfold. What story is unfolding for you?

Aerial Sculptures

Dance is a collection of Aerial Sculptures. They are made as a collage of shapes that originated from an orange peel. I loved the surprising effects that this created. I collaged the shapes together to create surprising combination of positive and negative shapes. They remind me of Rorschach inkblots, where the viewer can see their own interpretation of representations. I have played with various colors in this collection as well and am still combining ideas here.
